Does The Cove charge for medication management?
We store and distribute all medications for our residents at NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE. This is one of the most important safety concerns for the staff here at The Cove.
Is there transportation available?
Yes, The Cove has a beautiful handicapped accessible bus ready to transport our residents to their doctor, dentist, and other appointments, within a ten-mile radius. We also go on outings to local events, parks, restaurants and shopping venues.
Does your location offer activities? If so what type?
We absolutely offer activities! We have two full-time activity coordinators and they keep our residents busy and challenged. We have art classes, pajama parties, brains games, horse racing, bocce ball, dancing, and of course Bingo. Our exercise classes are affiliated with Passport For Wellness which is designed specifically for aging seniors. We also have many talented performers that visit The Cove such as musicians, singers, and dancers.
Does The Cove have a hair salon?
Yes, our residents enjoy a number of salon services including color and permanent options.
Will I still be able to drive and park my car on-site?
Our residents can certainly continue to drive as long as they are safely able to do so. Parking is conveniently located near the front entrance.
Do we bring our own furniture?
We encourage residents to furnish the rooms with their personal belongings and make it their own. There are times when a quick move will be necessary and if so we may be able to provide furnishings needed. Please speak with the community directly for assistance.
Is housekeeping offered? And what about laundry?
Our staff will check rooms daily to empty trash and make beds. Weekly housekeeping includes dusting, mopping and cleaning bathrooms. Linens are also laundered weekly.
Personal clothing can be laundered by our staff for a small monthly fee but a washer and dryer are available to residents if they would rather manage their own.
What are the rooms at The Cove like?
Our rooms in Assisted Living and Memory Care are a comfortable size with a large en-suite bathroom. The rooms may be shared for companionship or financial comfort.
Are meals included and what are they like?
Meals are included in the price of assisted living and they are delicious! We offer full hot breakfast options each day, a special lunch with main entre and vegetables, soup and salad. For dinner is a lighter fare with soup, salad and hot and cold sandwich options. But what makes The Cove different is that during lunch, we offer a full restaurant-style menu to those who prefer other options. Such as grilled chicken salad, cheeseburger, tuna salad plate, pizza, and many other things. And don’t forget dessert. We have cakes, pies, ices cream, or maybe all three! Does The Cove have physicians who visit onsite?
We have medical doctors and nurse practitioners who visit our residents weekly. Podiatry and dermatology visit monthly. They are billed through Medicare and your private insurance.
What happens as my loved ages or declines?
The Cove holds the highest licensure offered to a facility. An ECC License, or Extended Congregate Care, allow our ECC staff to care for residents at a higher level when required. Our goal is for your family to remain in their ALF home surrounded by the staff and friends they have grown to care about.
How does one pay for Assisted Living or Memory Care?
Assisted Living is typically private pay but there are options that a resident may have available based on individual situations. Feel free to call The Cove to get contacts and information that may help.
Do you have 24-hour nursing staff and what is the staffing ratio for your facility?
Yes, we have 24-hour nursing staff. Our staffing pattern at The Cove exceeds state requirements, the ratio is variable, and adjusts continually based on the needs of our residents.
Is Memory Care a locked environment?
Memory Care at The Cove is designed to provide residents with a safe, secure space while offering a homelike setting. They can watch butterflies in the garden, paint on the porch, watch TV by the fireplace, or have ice cream with their families. There is a code system that is used by staff and visitors to make sure our residents remain safe. More about Memory Care at The Cove.
